My desire to learn alternative healing work began after the birth of my premature daughter, Mackenzie. She was born 3 and ½ months early, weighing in at only 1 pound, 12 ounces. She was very sick for many years and taught me more about life that I could have ever imagined. You can read her remarkable story at www.premature-infant.com/mackenzie.html. I witnessed first hand the problems that resulted from such a traumatic birth and I wanted to find a way to help other infants and families with similar experiences.
Over the years my practice has expanded to working with all ages of clients with a variety of issues. I have learned so much about how life’s problems can be traced back to an event or experience in our past, even as early as before you were born. Through traditional and nontraditional training I have developed a practice where together we find the root cause of the issue you are struggling with, talk through it, energetically release it, and replace it with strength and a greater understanding of oneself.
I received my traditional therapy training as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver. I have a Master’s Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing and currently have a private psychotherapy practice. I have coauthored a book, Your Premature Infant and Child: Helpful Answers and Advice for Parents (Berkley, 1999), I love to write and speak on the impact of birth on the infant and family (see www.premature-infant.com). Although I integrate traditional therapy in my work, my primary focus is using energetic healing and spiritual growth techniques.
My training in Energy Healing Techniques is vast. I have been trained and/or certified in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, The Yuen Method, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and Matrix Energetics Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Matrix Energetics, and The Way of the Heart as well as many other forms of healing. While these various modalities have similarities and differences, I work to bring them together to fit the needs of the client to promote a gentle and effective healing journey of the body, mind, and spirit. I have also trained with Sonia Choquette, a Sixth-Sensory Spiritual Teacher, and intuitive counselor Deb Sheppard, which brings in a strong intuitive nature to my work.
I am married and have three wonderful children. My own life’s journey and experiences have given me the compassion and understanding to help those who are facing the many challenges of life.
